Our Fees

How Our Ticket Fees Work – Wavedd
Ticket fees that actually support venues

How our ticket fees work

Wavedd is built for artists, labels, promoters and the independent venues that keep the UK scene alive. Our ticket fees stay low, stay transparent and send a fixed slice of every paid ticket to Music Venue Trust.

Every ticket sold through Wavedd helps protect grassroots music venues across the UK. Lower fees for small events, 0% on free tickets, and a built-in monthly donation to Music Venue Trust.

Our ticket fee structure

One simple structure, no hidden extras. You’ll always know exactly how much goes to you, how much keeps Wavedd running, and how much is being donated back into grassroots venues.

Standard tickets

Tickets over £8

10% booking fee

You keep 90% of the ticket price (before payment gateway charges).

  • 5% – Donated directly to Music Venue Trust
  • 4% – Keeps Wavedd running fairly and sustainably
  • 1% – Covers VAT and other tax/compliance costs on platform income
Micro-events

Tickets £8 and under

7% booking fee

Smaller shows and low-priced tickets shouldn’t get hammered by fees. For these events, you keep 93% of the ticket price.

  • 3% – Donated to Music Venue Trust
  • 3% – Platform costs (servers, support, product improvements)
  • 1% – VAT and tax buffer so you don’t get any surprises
Free tickets

£0 tickets

0% booking fee

Free events stay free. Use Wavedd for guest lists, community events, open decks, student nights and listening parties without paying anything per ticket.

  • No per-ticket charge from Wavedd
  • Use all the same tools for check-in and attendee data
  • Perfect for building community around your paid shows

Payment providers (such as Stripe or PayPal) may charge their own processing fees separately. Wavedd does not add any extra “service”, “fulfilment” or “processing” fees on top of the structure above.

How we compare to other ticket platforms

A lot of platforms advertise a headline percentage but hide a fixed fee on every ticket. That fixed fee quietly punishes grassroots nights, where tickets are often in the £3–£10 range. Wavedd uses a single transparent percentage and keeps low-priced events front and centre.

Ticket price Typical real-world fee* Wavedd fee
£3 Often equivalent to 15–20%+ once fixed fees are added 7%
£5 Frequently around 12–15%+ in practice 7%
£8 Commonly around 10–12% 7%
£10 Roughly 8–11% once all charges are combined 10%
£15–£20 Typically 6–8% 10%

*Based on publicly available pricing from major UK ticket platforms that combine a percentage fee with a fixed per-ticket charge.

Why this matters for small events

If you’re running underground shows, first headline slots, small label nights or student events, a fixed 40–50p fee on every cheap ticket can quietly erase your margin.

With Wavedd, there’s no fixed per-ticket hit – just a clear percentage that stays low for the exact type of events that keep the scene moving.

Directly supporting grassroots venues every month

Grassroots music venues are where most artists learn how to perform, test new music and build real communities. They are also the part of the live ecosystem under the most pressure – rising costs, redevelopment and changing cities mean too many rooms are going dark.

Recent reports from Music Venue Trust show that the UK has been losing grassroots venues at an alarming rate, with well over a hundred spaces closing, stopping live music or coming under serious threat in a single year. That’s multiple venues disappearing every month – fewer places for new artists to take their first steps, and fewer reasons for scenes to stick around.

Music Venue Trust is a UK registered charity created to protect, secure and improve these spaces. They campaign nationally, provide emergency support, help improve venues for both artists and audiences, and even work to buy freeholds so vital rooms can’t simply be turned into something else.

At the end of each month, Wavedd totals up all ticket sales and sends a donation based on the fee structure above. Every standard and micro-event ticket you sell feeds into that monthly contribution.

Selling your tickets through Wavedd doesn’t just promote a night – it actively helps keep small venues open across the UK.
